The faith part is that you are willing to risk your life and more based on the current state of science It is only faith if you delude yourself about your odds. If you understand the risk and odds and face that squarely it has zero to do with faith. You keep confusing that people do indeed revert to faith in scary situations, but expediency, lack of knowledge, acceptance of ambiguity, etc, all of which we must deal with in all walks of life is not faith and shouldn't be called faith unless you want to confuse yourself.
