The banking system wasn't wiped-out by the post-9/11 real estate bubble only because of a $1 trillion contribution from Congress and a $7 trillion contribution from the Fed. Without this $8 trillion of government welfare the banks would have failed due to the fact they had a negative net worth. I'm sure bankruptcy is the same concept in New Zealand as in the United States. With that level of government welfare no business or individual could ever possibly become bankrupt.

Only to find later information provided to investors did not turn out exactly as presented. Info. was perhaps buttered up, based on projection possible outcomes rather than results. And / Or, it was presented qualified by a hypothetical term some where it the prospectus, Which the company purposely places in order to fall back on later should the need be. It happens all the time in listings which use Venture Capital. I'm sure there is folks here on this board who have fell victim to such a scenario. Any chance at recourse is usually vague. The suggestion on the board that Right Wing Rush Limbaugh and others like him are Wing nuts. I whole heartedly agree. They like the far left have been relegated to my ignore list. I am free enterprise. I consider Communism and Fascism goal post extremes. Free enterprise is the negotiated center between the two. It offers the incentive of capital gain needed for the capable to grow. Providing employment and a lively hood for the flock who do not either have the drive, or simply do not wish to endure the stress which comes with it. To Elroy I correct some thing I said. It is not only the left that makes things up. The right is just as guilty. Slander is always easy. Comparing Hitler saying he would make Germany Great again. Like Trump made about America. "Show me the document the statement is in". There is no comparison between the two people. Regardless if you like Trump or not. When the Japanese were rounded up during the second world war. In 20/20 hindsight it was not necessary. Intelligence at the time was not what it is today. Japan had declared war on the western world. We did not know if people had been forwarded to infiltrate the West in anticipation of an attack. That we would not have to possibly war with factions within our own country It was also was done in Canada where they were interned at different locals. The biggest Crime was that after the War proper reinstatement of their former lives were never done. Even apologies took decades. Canadian friends of Japanese origin, who's parents farm lands in the Fraser valley Near Abbotsford BC was confiscated and never returned. Nor were they compensated for it. I realize I am right wing oriented. It comes from a lifetime of being at the helm of a reasonably successful company. The other thing I might add is I am extremely Patriotic when it comes to our western world. I am of American Native heritage. (What people call Indians) From that view, I say, Be careful when it comes to immigration policies. We were not, Immigrants came in droves, made laws that best suited themselves and look where most of our peoples ended up.
