doc in one of those articles you posted.......I think on the Excite thread there was a mention about offerings, the browser deal......how it was so successful.....ie Netscape......and it would not have been successful if introduced in 1975. They also ran a parallel in the same article about online financial being a great idea....but the timming was off when introduced........no users wired in. It sure smelled like Intuit to me.

Lucky for us & Intuit....they are getting a second chance, but now the timming is perfect IMO. That's exactly why MicroSoft is making an entry.....albeit as Jonny come lately. Hopefully the only major event we will remember them for is the endorsement the OFX standard created by Intuit/Checkfree.....like they really had a choice. I often wonder if these two didn't 'use' the MicroSoft name as part of OFX to get the ball rolling in e-commerce.....creditabliity factor.....otherwse they could have used 'joe blow'.

As far as the annual report goes the investments they made in the Internet this year......have already returned 100's of Million of Dollars to Shareholders......and the game hasn't even started yet.

You can see the 80's on this if you just focus on these key investments....just take your Checkfree projection and multiply it by the 10.6 Million Shares Intuit holds...add in Excite....and these investments alone can be....and most likely will be worth more than Intuits' current market cap 5 to 10 years out. It's all a matter of timming doc, that's what you keep telling me.....look at what they picked these stocks up for.......they were ahead of everybody in seeing these events unfold.

Like my gal told me.........forget the past....the past is history....big money wants to know.......what are you gonna do for me now. Adding a couple 100 Million on the balance sheet in less than one year is good for starters.....don't you think?
