This statement is legally wrong. It's incorrect and needs to be retracted because you cannot legally purchase fully automatic conversion kits for any firearm without a background check. They aren't part of the "gunshow loophole". What is needed to buy such a kit: (1) You need a Class 07 FFL / Manufacturing license from the federal government AND a tax stamp for that kit. This means you NEED TO GO THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK at both federal and state levels to secure such a license. The conversion process IS CONSIDERED manufacturing of machine guns, since the changes required are dramatic; (2) If your license is suspended, revoked, or surrendered - you must forfeit all of the firearms along with the license; (3) You're only allowed to sell the weapons to other people WITH suitable level FFL licenses. It's a felony to sell the guns to anyone else or to allow anyone else to have constructive possession of a conversion kit or converted weapon. This article is wrong and it's a shining example of why people don't take the media's opinion on the matter of gun bans seriously.

terrorists, mass shooters and crazies could care less about gun laws. hell, Obama doesn't care about bombing sovereign nations or murdering kids at weddings with drones and he's a peace laureate President! Americans aren't that dumb. they see that police don't prevent crime, that calling the cops is just as likely to get you're sorry ass in jail as the bad guy's. It's every country for itself and every man. You can't expect a totally corrupt government to protect you.
