Good Morning Jane, My whole life went into the Twilight Zone on April 26, 1997 and has not come back including this thread.I have thought alot about what is happening here and if Alan and I were to say nothing about being Jewish and use none of the terminology like the Jews in the Inquisitions and the Crusades and possibly change our name to Smith or something more acceptable we would be welcomed on this thread (by you know who). The problem is I know we are a testimony to the God of Abraham and His perfect Son Jesus, that He has kept His Covenants with a remnant of Israel and no matter how much trouble that brings I will shout it from the rooftops in Praise to my God who is faithful to an unfaithful people.In 1 Peter the verse used so much here 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, and holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness unto His marvelous light.I could point out that the Nations (plural) are mentioned seperate from believing Israel several times but it is not worth the arguement. The obvious point I do want to make for everyone to think about is in verse 8, And a stone of stumbling ( the corner stone in Zion verse 7 ) and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. I prefer the NIV that says they were predestined for. That means God knew they would stumble and allowed them to suffer to bring forth the Messiah for all Nations and then stumble as they are appointed to do so everyone can enjoy their loss. That is to human not anything resembling the God I know and serve. No there is a plan a mystery in Romans 11 for all Israel to be saved. The Jews that have believed in the God of Abraham inwardly will have a chance to accept Him in a way that is a mystery to us but He is faithful and no one will ever convince me otherwise. But then if you do not accept the Old Testament as being literal then you might miss the true character of our God so perfectly revealed in the Messiah that wept over Jerusalem. According to what I have heard here He would have laughed at them. To me the Jews have believed as far back as you can go in the Bible that there will be a resurection of the dead even Martha states this before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. I believe they (the believers of God inwardly) will be raised to be with the Messiah they longed for in the Messianic Kingdom and will accept Him at that time but for the sake of the whole world John 3:16 they are partially blinded until the full number come in. That is why this is the time of the Gentiles in the Old and New Testament and the Messianic Kingdom is yet to come for everyone.The Lion and the goat shall lay together and the peaceful Kingdom the Jews believe Messiah will bring will become real. HALLELUAH!! I can't wait maybe I won't have to much longer.There will be no favorites in His Knigdom, remember He told them that the Gentiles like to Lord it over them but not so with you. I can see the need to Lord over people here clearly but that is not the attitude of our precious Lord even in Romans 11 He says He desires to have Mercy on everyone. There is so much love in Him that everyone will be filled till they overflow. This is the core of all this bizarre quareling, they will go nuts when they read this, I have not shared how I really believe but for Christmas I want to Praise Him for His faithfulness and will not be ashamed of myself or my people. There is so much determination to show we are proud that they want to squash us but I boast in the Lord and that is it. Love in the Lord, Nancy
