Seems to me everyone wants to be in the limelight yet none of them have enough spine to say things are categorically good or bad. What does it mean when they say things look bad, are going to suck but we're keeping our price target way up there anyhow! These analysts are good, they can talk out of both corners of their mouth. Guess that's why they're analysts.

I wonder if it turns out that Apple's January report refutes the "supply chain" rumors, it will put an end to such rumors in the future. Somehow I doubt it. Apple has created the highest efficiency by contracting out its manufacturing, but that is also its "Achilles Heel."

For the moment, the analysts are focused entirely on unit sales of Iphones. Perhaps this is because it is a precise metric that few other companies provide. It's interesting how these analysts --- who can be so persnickity in bean-counting every Iphone they estimate will be sold during the next year --- are so ready to turn a blind eye to the metrics of software companies, whose real revenues and P&L are anybody's guess.
