Hey Jayfish, some good points there. As for it being comparable to synthetic, I have always figured ZEN's quality was top notch. But there are two points against that statement.
First, many flake deposits are getting synthetic quality graphite upon sphericalizing and coating, making them suitable for Li-ion batteries. Syrah has indicated a process that is economical for them, and they are planning a plant in North America to supply that type of graphite. And because of the vast amount of graphite they have, the waste is not critical. Plus they are pretty much ready to go, whereas ZEN will take 5+ years to get to production. If you're Tesla, would you wait that long when you plan to mass produce in the next year or two?
Second, ZEN's purity has regressed from 99.99+ to 99.94 in the PEA to 99.9 in recent news releases. That is not able to compete with synthetic in many of the pricier applications.

Jay fish, I am literally shocked about something you said, and very scary. You said zen has laid out its path to success whereas CCB has not. Shocking! Zen has Never ran its product in bulk, or commercial scale. Has it ran 100 tones through processing? 200 tonnes? Nope. No costs, no clue, or purity on commercial scale. I am not bashing zen, could care less as I don't own anymore and am not short, but statements like this are just reckless. Very reckless and irresponsible!
