My old Mac was a monster and gave the user extremely easy access, which was necessary for me because apple made a design mistake that required an additional fan. I replaced that computer because I could no longer get a browser that worked for it. Sheech. My new Mac cost about the same but was NO FASTER or better. Essentially I paid over $2000 for a browser. In addition my optical drive, which I need, failed once and the replacement Apple put in also failed. I did spend time and money to max out the RAM on my iMac which didn't do anything for me. I upgraded RAM anticipating that LogicPro would run a lot faster and better but it doesn't. It barely uses 25% of my ram and instead swaps out a huge amount. And on occasion it locks up and dies. RIDICULOUS. Upgrading my drive to an SSD would require me to remove the screen... think to yourself, how much would it have cost Apple to put a hatch in the back of my Mac to allow a drive swap like the RAM can be swapped? At this point I think to myself... are they soon going to obsolete my Mac software wise? PERSONALLY it very much looks like Apple intentionally obsoletes its products through actions like this. That doesn't make me a happy customer... it makes me a reluctant customer who buys ONLY because there is no alternative... otherwise known as arm twisting. Long term I'm looking for a way to divorce myself from this company because of this kind of thing.
