He may be able to use Trimble's placer product, the link for which is below. trimble.com As I understand it the system gets position updates only when it is hitched to a tractor or powered up, otherwise it retains it's position in memory. The system can be wired to run continuosly for about three days with on board battery. They may also have solar power or other solutions to the power problem. I know several ports are using GPS for locating containers. I am not suure how they solve their power problem. Does anyone else?
