The pictures you showed are of charcoal, not coal......for at least a couple of decades (I was there almost 20 years ago), they have been trying to clean their air......but with millions of people still living in near 3rd world conditions it will take a couple of decades more.... No one knows more than they do about their problem with air pollution. One of the very first items on their action list is too eliminate charcoal as a routine fuel... But thanks for the photos ......brings back fond memories of our trip there... btw, the people were charming....
