John, am not a frequent poster, but couldn't pass this up. Often a
person's credibility is more accepted by unknowledgeable people because of the skill of presentation, rather than any actual proof
of their claims. Having read some of your reference URLs by Mr.
Yardeni I would caution you not to believe all his eloquence as
expert and prophetic in nature. His discourse on the problem of nuclear power production, nuclear safety and electrical generation in general is full of "interpretations and speculations" that he passes off as unanswered or unknown delimas or threats to the nation (my quotes). I have 15 years in the nuclear electrical generation business and know that most of what he said is HYPE. I know of one nuc plant that ran their y2k fix and discovered a date dependent subroutine they were not aware of that caused the plant to shut down. It was restarted within a few hours. Please don't misunderstand me, I believe y2k is going to be worse than most people imagine, probably close to where Mr. Yardeni thinks the world will be. I believe that even he doesn't fully understand where all the problems are going to crop up from and agree alot with Gabriela
that "me thinks he doth protest too much". Regards, Ron
