Chuca

I know that's what Maxam is saying now. Wildcat was asking where Maxam said production would start in April and I was just pointing him to the PR where they said April.

Chuca: <<Maxamgold AGM is scheduled for Spring 1998. I bet they schedule the AGM ..after PRODUCTION!!!>>

Yes, it would be nice timing to hold the AGM after production starts to get some exposure. However, it's gonna take a while to shake down the equipment before they get up to full speed ahead. IMO as a shareholder, I wish Maxam would schedule the AGM for a date before the mine starts because:

1) the company shouldn't waste valuable time and energy trying to choreograph an AGM around mining operations; Maxam should just concentrate on getting into profitable production and leave theatrics out the equation.

2) There are no guarantees to when mining will start, and if you plan an AGM to hype production commencement but mining is delayed, you burn a lot of people's expectations and probably the stock price too.

3) Long-term, it won't make a difference to stock price appreciation whether you hold an AGM before or after mine commencement, and if 2) occurred, some nervous shareholders may think "IPM" and sell.

4) There's no overwhelming requirement to hold the AGM after mining starts vs. before. Yes, holding it after mining starts heightens the drama, but this is a mining company, not Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

In short, IMO, I hope Dale just concentrates on getting into production as opposed to riding onto stage on a Harley at the next AGM, as it were. In other words, we've waited so long for a DD company to get into profitable production that I wouldn't want valuable and scarce resources diverted towards putting on a hypish AGM that could backfire.

Just my own opinion, and I welcome everyone else's too.

Regards,

Rand

Hey Chuca,

Can anyone direct me to a URL or a posting on MXAM or IPM thread that
first states that the EU or Australia are contemplating selling their gold to balance there books. My wife just saw this on TV and thinks it is new news and is worried.

ASAP appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
