Do you or jl actually know when and where the robo-signing occurs in the process?
I don't think it matters when it happened in the process.

The question is what difference did the robo-signing make in terms of time and number of foreclosures that were pushed through. How many foreclosures could have been prevented if said robo-signing never took place?

You claim robo-signing led to hundreds of millions of dollars in unjust foreclosures, but that's outrageous without any proof of the difference that I pointed to above.

The only justification left for awarding free houses to "victims" of robo-signing is if you think these people experienced unbearable "pain and suffering" due to the practice. That makes about as much sense as awarding someone millions of dollars for spilling hot coffee onto themselves.
