Since I never used Norton 3.0 I can't comment on its look and feel. The early reviews of Realhelp have been great. I think Norton is a bit scary to the novice users which Quarterdeck is going after. I would like to see a head to head comparison between Norton 3.0, Nuts and Bolts, FirstAid 98, and RealHelp.

Peter when you installed RealHelp did you already have a virus protection program installed? I purched Tuneup today and I'm a little gun shy about installing it with McAfee on my system. Tuneup comes with built in virus protection, and I haven't seen any informaiton in the Manual about how not to install it. If it dosn't work with McAfee it goes back.

>> I'm troubled by the performance of RealHelp. I had Norton Utilites 3.0 on so I uninstalled it and loaded up RealHelp. I hope it is just me but I like the look and feel of Norton MUCH better. I think Norton does a much better job of analyzing my system and fixing found problems and conflicts too. I have now unistalled RealHellp and gone back to Norton. I'll be interested in reading the upcoming reviews...

I really don't think RealHelp intends to compete directly with Norton Utilities, and might be more appropriate to compare it with Symantec's CrashGuard Deluxe, First Aid 98 (from Cybermedia), and PC Medic (from Network Associates).

I'm bullish on SYMC (because of Norton Utilities 3 and the other top of the line offerings), but think QDEK can carve out more market share in this growing pie and so I'm long there too (another thousand shares at 1.25).
