One argument against capital punishment would be 'don't give the state the power to put people to death' especially not in a century in which governments have slaughtered a hundred million plus people.

But that's not our history in America. Here in America we have a history of letting convicted murderers go so they can kill more people. It's not just Willie Horton, it's happened even here in TX* several times since I've lived here. If you execute killers, liberals can't set them free.
