Well, I tried it myself. Barnard/Furman/Engine 2, while still taking metformin. A1c went up to something lethal. I recall about 15, might have been more like 13. Switched to strict low carb, A1c dropped to 5.6 in 6 weeks. That's just one person's story but it does happen to be mine.

I wasted a long time trying to figure out which approach was right, probably caused irreparable damage to my nerves, tendons, ligaments, capillaries, while I did. The Barnard types mean well, but they're just flat wrong, and they are hurting people.
