Arthur, Are you saying AMES accellerated schedule for quick inventory replenishment was a success this year? The selling season certainly appeared busy this year, however I can't get a good feel for the product mix. Have adjustments, (for returned items), been handled in a polite and helpful fashion? This is a good way for AMES to build new customers, while at the same time introducing them to AMES' service policies. There was a good article in today's Hartford Courant about return policies, and AMES was very highly mentioned. The article went on to describe Circuit City's policy of a 15% re-stocking fee on opened merchandise. I can see in their case where that would be necessary, but it sure doesn't build up very much goodwill with the customers being charged the 15% fee.
