Penni: One should not rewrite the cultural heritage of a country anymore than one should rewrite its actual history. We may have gone too far in this regard with the prohibition of Christmas symbols which mean a great deal to the majority here. It is impossible to represent every religious minority in equal terms to the majority, although their views and beliefs should be respected and protected. I don't know of any other country which goes so far to protect the sensibilities of minorities, and we should be proud of this. Can you imagine moving to France, for example, and insisting that your child be taught in English? But that's another story. I agree with your post and apologize for butting in. BTW, do you miss VA?
