Kas1: There are so many boats around here that you can buy them cheap. Mine cost less than a five year old used car. The catch is that the maintenance is a killer. Moreover, I have been fixing mine up, which is a bit insane because it is an old boat and will always remain so, so I will never get the value out of it, expect for the satisfaction of seeing it improve. In any event, your friends characterization is true in part. I am only 10 minutes from Port Everglades by boat so I do not spend much time in the Intercoastal but head for the deep water. I would not own a Scarab or any of the other Cigarette type boats. About a month ago, one of these Scarabs was doing in excess of 60 mph in the Intercoastal and ran over a 31 foot cabine cruiser at night killing all six people on board. What a tragedy. Not typical of Scarabs, but all these types of boats are built for speed, and put in the hands of non-racers, represent a considerable danger to the boating public. Sorry, getting off on one of my pet pieves. In any event, come on down. We actually had a cold front move through last night, and it must be at least 50 degrees. Still haven't turned on the heat this year. Never did last year either. If I turn it one, I could probably cause a fire due to the dust accumulating in the system. Clinton
