I've been following discussion on BFIT and would like to add in 2 cents: You have made some excellent "practical" observations in your message
<<<the new year and resolutions combined with the cold winter
months ahead. one other thing these so called health clubs
are more like dating clubs.>>> here is one more:

I actually, use Ballys 4-5 times a week. It's not great but is packed. (1)And the people that are members seem to fit a possible profile of young not awfully sophisticated small stock investors: naturally, a lot of them "buy what they use". I was tempted (before doing homework). (2) It's my impression that in the last two months (North East) the influx of new and prospective members has picked up considerably. And Ballys has always been extremely agressive when it comes to marketting (selling memberships)(and the contracts make it quite difficult to cancell the membership, so most sales are final)

IMO these two/three factors: a steady supply of new buyers, agressive marketting combined with trap-contracts, and increase in seasonal revenue could easily postpone a fall int he stock's price (at best)...
So, just a note on the side of caution.
Seems to me similar factors are at play in YHOO too (users/buyers), which I have shorted and am getting ready to do more of the same...
Cheers!
