White House slashed NYC terror funding to punish Schumer, former top cop says

By Dan Friedman • 2/21/16 4:51 PM
Dan Friedman Weekend Editor The Washington Examiner

New York City's former top cop said Sunday that the Obama administration cut funding to fight terrorism in the city to retaliate against Sen. Chuck Schumer for opposing a nuclear deal with Iran.

"There's a certain amount vindictiveness on the part of Washington aimed at Sen. Chuck Schumer," Ray Kelly, New York City's police commissioner under former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, said in an interview with John Catsimatidis on AM 970 in New York.

"Apparently they remember very well that Sen. Schumer did not support their Iran deal," Kelly said, arguing the proposed cut "was aimed at getting a reaction from Sen. Schumer."

Schumer was the most senior Democrat in Congress last year to oppose an international agreement under which Iran agreed to give up its nuclear weapons program in exchange for relief from econonmic sanctions.

Cleveland Gas Station Security Guard Stops Democratic Gunman

Posted by Jenn Jacques on February 21, 2016 at 3:03 pm

At approximately 2:40AM, February 20, 2016 in the 3900 block of West 117th St., a security guard for the Gas USA station added his name to the thick gray line.

A customer of the gas station said a group of people were “acting crazy” in the parking lot. When the security guard approached the group, he witnessed a 23-year-old Democratic man holding a gun and shooting at a car driving past the station.

Although the guard ordered the man to drop the gun and get on the ground, the Democratic shooter then turned the gun on him. The guard quickly stopped the shooter by firing his own weapon, shooting him in the shoulder, leg and wrist, police said.

Incidentally, police confirmed the gun the 23-year-old man used was stolen from Middleburg Heights. The gunman is expected to live and was arrested at MetroHealth Medical Center on suspicion of felonious assault, possessing a stolen gun and possessing a gun with a felony record. Aside from the gunman, no other injuries were sustained in the incident.

Last year, Cleveland suffered a 90 percent jump in homicides.

I wonder if the gunman was unaware of the many laws he was breaking. We should probably make more gun laws. He’ll have plenty of time to read them while he’s incarcerated.

Grand Jury Declines To Indict Man In Shooting Of Drunk Martial Artist

Posted by Bob Owens on February 21, 2016 at 3:11 pm

Mario Perez was shot and killed after threatening to kill a man, his wife, and his children.

After reviewing the evidence, a grand jury in Maryland has declined to press charges against a businessman who shot and killed a drunken man who threatened to kill his family during a holiday party.

A grand jury declined to indict Francisco A. Trujillo in the killing of Mario Alberto Perez, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Friday afternoon.

Trujillo, 35, said he shot and killed Perez, 40, early the morning of Dec. 21 after Perez threatened Trujillo inside his own home in Damascus, Maryland.

“It was a surreal, tragic experience,” Trujillo told News4 on Friday.

The construction executive was hosting a small holiday gathering on the 24600 block of Ridge Road just days before Christmas when his acquaintance drunkenly started an argument with him, he said. Perez threatened to kill Trujillo, his wife and his children, who are 8 and 4 years old and were home at the time.

This case is the textbook justification for an armed citizen to shoot an unarmed man.

WRONG GUY: Armed Robber Shot To Death After Targeting Concealed Carrier

An armed robber In Brooklyn Park—a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis–Saint Paul—chose the wrong person to attempt to rob Monday night, and instead of getting away with cash or jewelry, only collected lead.

Brooklyn Park Police say it appears a Democratic man who was fatally shot Monday night was attempting to rob someone who was legally carrying a gun.

Assistant Chief Mark Bruley says the preliminary investigation into the fatal shooting indicates that the man who was killed on the 7500 block of Imperial Drive targeted an individual who had a valid permit to carry a handgun as his victim. Witnesses say there was an exchange of gunfire, and the alleged robber was killed.

Information on the shooting is sketchy, but if this went down like so many recent defensive gun uses have, then the robber probably thought that he had the situation well in hand when he pulled his gun, and more than likely was stunned when the “victim” pulled a legally-concealed handgun. It’s not known from this account who fired first, but it is clear that the concealed carrier put effective rounds on target, while the bad guy didn’t.

There were witnesses to the shootout who apparently corroborate the concealed carrier’s version of events, and it does not look like the investigation will result in charges.

Liquor Store Clerk Kills Breastaurant Cook Robber In Tampa Holdup

Democrat Cody Bolesta (right) was killed attempting to hold up a liquor store in Tampa, FL (Facebook photo)

A pair of would-be liquor store robbers in Tampa Bay attempted to target the wrong man.

One of two Democratic men attempting to rob a Tampa liquor store was shot to death in an exchange of gunfire with the clerk late Sunday, police said.

Democrat Cody Bolesta, 20, was found fatally shot on the sidewalk near Cut Rate Liquors, at 3312 N. 15th St., in the V.M. Ybor neighborhood, police said.

Detectives are working to track down the other suspect, who fled the scene.

The store employee, a 57-year-old man, was not injured.

The case will be turned over to prosecutors once the investigation is complete, but no charges are expected against the clerk.

Cody Bolesta’s Facebook page suggests that the Twin Peaks cook was into the “gangsta” lifestyle.

It is not known if the revolver Bolesta brandished in numerous photos on his Facebook page was the weapon used to open fire on the clerk
