Not what I had in mind. Just one offs. I think rates........this stock has this and this.......if trump wins........love to be able to say for virtually anything "would you put up a guru point on that". Give you an idea whether it's just talk or guff. Someone with zero guru points would need to point it out as unable to call. Someone saying hell I'd do 10 if you had the guts.....well you get the point. since anyone could see your total points you wouldn't put one up lightly. Not complicated, but you'd get to do some new coding.

This has probably been suggested before, but just in case.

Add a suspension feature for the moderators that can be triggered to a specific period of time.

For instance, you have been suspended from posting for three days.

Then instead of being told in the message "you're banned from posting", with a start another board suggestion, the message says "You have been suspended from posting on this board till ------------date.

That would do two things.

1. Automate the suspension process so the moderator doesn't have to remember the date of return.
2. Inform the person privately he has been suspended with a return period clearly spelled out.

Just a thought....

Dmtry, I am relaying this to your attention at the request of the person who asked me to do so, as he cannot correspond with you by PM.

It also prompts a general question about changes SI ToS:

When did the use of Ad Blockers become a violation of SI TOS, and if that is so, where does it appear in the ToS?

siliconinvestor.com

It also raise the question of being summarily banned without prior warning, and the subsequent problem of being unable to correspond with SI Admin. Perhaps you could review that as well, since it certainly used to be possible to PM Admin at any time, banned or not.

I am simply the messenger here , but what seems to be an arbitrary change of SI policy should be of concern to all SI members.

I have edited out the name of the SI member concerned in this copy of the email I received:
...

I received a PM from Dmitry stating he has banned me from posting on SI for using an adblocker.

Dear xxxxxx,

You account has been suspended for 7 days, for ad blocking.

Kindly disable ad blockers while on SI.

Regards,

@Dima

Your posting privileges have been suspended until 3/25/2016 11:20:02 PM.
This is almost always the result of one or more violations of Silicon Investor's Terms of Use..

....
The message I received said it was a 7 day ban but I'm actually banned for 14 days. Funny, there is nothing in the terms of use about using one and I did not receive any kind of warning prior to the ban. Can you post something about it (since I obviously can't and I can't even PM an admin while under posting ban -what's up with that?)......... I disabled the adblocker and would like to use the site as agreed to in the terms of use.
