Besides their new islands, the Chinese have one used carrier they bought from Russia. I imagine they're still learning how to fly off of it.

Frankly, what China is doing is the best argument yet for building a Mobile Offshore Base.

One of the big arguments against it, other than what admiral wants to helm such a thing, is defense. What with military lasers being tested right now and railguns soon to be deployed, that little problem is moot.

The Chinese don't have a leg to stand on in International Law regarding those islands and it's good to finally be doing something about it.

Now, can we get those islands dismantled?

If you want to press the Chinese NOW is a good time to do it while they're struggling with their economy.
