<<I he been doing a bit of thinking on Asia. The problem is real and significant.
Spending will be down. The questions is where will the cuts be made? In technology?
Would that not be self defeating? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Glebb? I like it! <VBG>

I think one has to distinguish between consumer spending and
government/telco/enterprise.

Consumer purchases should be down the most I would think. This would
affect PCs and peripherals of course. However, I have been reading
that internet and infrastructure spending by non-consumers is still
considered a priority item. That I think will continue pretty much
as before. ASND should be less affected than COMS, IMO.

My $0.02.

Glenn, the issue is consumer confidence. If the people in Asia don't want to spend money to buy computers, to get on line, to buy fancy air jordan shoes, then a lot of U.S. companies will suffer. S. Korea is another story: They wanted to sell below cost so that they could control the market (memory, electronics), but they miscalculated. I'm against any international bailout.
