"The Japanese hair is thicker and straight, almost never with a natural curl, and besides the cut, Japanese women mostly want a permanent curl added to their thicker straight hair".

I hate that look on older Asian women - seems a thing to get a permanent after they raise their kids - almost like a requirement or rite of passage. My Korean wife has kept it long and straight - much nicer looking than the old lady perm. Now my twin girls have inherited my curls and hate it, always wasting money on flat irons and straightener magic in a bottle. I always offer to cut their hair as well and they always say no. :-)
