Of course they can have your interest in mind. That is the strength of the Democratic Party they have everybody's interests in mind. I don't think you're trying very hard to understand the issues. Answer me one question:" why did the South hold on to segregation for 100 years after the Civil War and only integrated when forced to by the northern liberals?" Segregation is a medieval idea akin to slavery. Why would any African-American vote for people that fought so hard against integration? Does that make sense to you somehow? Even today we have blatant voter suppression going on all through the South. And blatant racism still exists in the South and it is pervasive. Every single County in Mississippi polls against interracial marriage. That is primitive racism and nothing else. And few southern states accepted the medicaid for the poor of Obamacare even though it was free for the first few years and then only 10%. state participation All the dem governors took it ecause it helped the poor so much. And the pubs want to get rid of the safety nets that exist now. The poor need help and the dems understand that. The pubs not so much.
