Backseat Driver: Man Shoots his Kidnappers in Front Seat
Tragic story of two enterprising criminals whose plans were ruined by an armed citizen.

Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 15, 2016 at 10:29 am

....
When a man was kidnapped and stuffed into a backseat by two individuals in Nevada this week, they didn’t know he was equipped to shift their plan into park. Permanently.

After taking the man from his home, the kidnappers showed him they already had one of his store employees zip-tied in the backseat of their Nissan Altima. That’s when the man, who is reportedly a jeweler, then entered the car to appease the kidnappers. What they didn’t realize is that the man they were putting into the seat behind them had a concealed weapon.

During the car ride, as the men drove their hostages through a subdivision in Henderson, the man shot his kidnappers from the back seat, killing them both. Without a driver, the car veered off the road and crashed into a home, bursting into flames.

The homeowner said she was in her kitchen when the kidnappers’ car hit a car parked on the street before it crashed into her home. The woman said she heard “four loud booms”, then rushed outside to see the car on fire.

After neighbors came and put out the flames, they realized there were two dead people in the front seats.

Police sources told News 3 they believe the incident may have been a robbery involving the kidnapping of a jeweler and confirmed the man who fired the gun was kidnapped from his home.

Home Intruder Kicks Down Front Door, Grandma Shoots him DeadPosted by Jenn Jacques on April 15, 2016 at 12:23 pm

Easy to see why Democrats want to disarm citizens ... look at the toll they're taking on criminals.

A disabled Kansas City, MO woman proved that every second counts when police are minutes away.

The homeowner said just after 11PM on Wednesday night, she heard loud knocking and banging at her front door. She grabbed her gun for her protection when she couldn’t see who was trying to enter her house.

And it’s a good thing she did.

The man eventually kicked in her front door, and gaining entrance to her home, charged toward the homeowner, who neighbors say walks with a cane.

At that point, the woman steadied herself and shot the man as he rushed toward her.

KMBC reported:

A longtime friend and neighbor of the woman said she didn’t want to be identified. She said the woman who lives at the house is in her late 40s and uses a cane to get around. The friend said the woman’s two sons sometimes stay at the house, but her toddler granddaughter is there almost all the time.

The friend said she understands the trauma of Thursday night’s situation. She said she understands the choice the woman made.

“If I felt I was being threatened, yeah, I sure would have,” said the friend.

Police said the man, whose name has not been released, was a friend of a relative and had been at the home earlier. He had been asked to leave, because the homeowner said he had illegal narcotics on him.

Liquor Store Clerk in Good Spirits After Thwarting Armed Robbery
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 15, 2016 at 2:18 pm

61-year-old liquor store clerk Johnny Adams may not be the fighting type, but when two armed robbers entered the store in Lexington, TN, it was a fight he was armed to win.Adams says it was a typical Tuesday night until two men came into the store, masked and holding an object which looked like a gun, in an apparent armed robbery.

WBBJ reports:

“He said ‘I’m going to rob you, I’m going to rob you,’” Adams said. “I was sitting on the chair and I was thinking, ‘yeah, right.’”

Adams said he did not put up a fight until one of the suspects punched him square in the nose.

“I can hurt you if you do crazy stuff to me,” Adams said. “I can’t deal with you hitting my mouth.”

That’s when Adams said he reached for the pistol hidden under the register. He fired one shot, narrowly missing the suspect.

“I’m 61, and this is the first time that I’ve ever shot a gun,” Adams said. “No wonder I shot the wall, but I really meant to hit him!”

Adams then chased the men out of the store, firing one more shot and once again missing.

“If they’re in fear of death or bodily injury, they have the right to defend themselves,” Capt. Jeff Middleton with the Lexington Police Department said.

The suspects are described as light-skinned black men driving an older-model Camaro. Though the description is vague, Adams said he will never forget them.

“He didn’t have tattoos, dreads or piercings,” Adams said. “He was clean cut, but he hit me like I was a piece of crap.”

Adams said he only suffered minor injuries during the robbery. Investigators said the entire incident was caught on surveillance cameras but that they are not yet ready to release it.

Captain Jeff Middleton of the Lexington Police Department said Adams was justified in shooting at the suspects, “If they’re in fear of death or serious bodily injury they have a right to defend themselves, and so if someone finds themselves in those circumstances, then obviously they have every legal right to do that.”

Armed Robbers Stopped by 11-year-old Girl With a Shotgun Sentenced
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 16, 2016 at 3:09 pm

Chilling story of how two criminals were frightened by an armed child. No wonder Democrats want to disarm citizens.

A man and woman who committed an armed robbery stopped by a shotgun wielding 11-year-old girl have been sentenced in Michigan.

Last year,, 11-year-old Reese saw two people banging on her door before circling her house trying to find a way in. The young girl remembered her father’s advice, that if anything went wrong, she should grab the family’s shotgun and hide in the bathroom of the master bedroom.

“I pointed it in his face and they ran off as soon as I did,” Reese said. The girl gave investigators a description of the suspects and thanks to her help, police were able to track down the pair. James Wasson and Rhonda Steward were quickly apprehended and charged with home invasion and felony gun charges, according to the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office.

MLive reports:

James Wasson, 54, pleaded no contest on Thursday, April 14, 2016 to multiple counts of first-degree and second-degree home invasion among 18 felony offenses connected to nine break-ins.

One of the cases against Wasson revolves around a Jan. 30, 2015 home invasion on Five Lakes Road in North Branch Township during which an 11-year-old girl was home alone.

She locked herself in a bathroom and hid with a shotgun, until Wasson eventually opened the door and closet where the girl was hiding. She pointed the shotgun at Wasson, who then fled the home in a van filled with stolen property.

Wasson was later taken into custody. DNA collected from Wasson by law enforcement connected him to two other home invasions in Lapeer County. He later confessed to five other home invasions in the county.

“While our office does not think lightly of anyone who commits crimes, we take particular offense to any individual who enters our County to prey on our communities and residents,” said Lapeer County Prosecutor Tim Turkelson, in a statement on Wasson, an Oakland County resident.

Rhonda Steward, 33, of Detroit, previously pleaded on charges of second-degree home invasion and concealing stolen property of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000 in connection to two break-ins, including the North Branch Township incident involving the 11-year-old girl.

Stewart was sentenced to a minimum of three years and maximum of 15 years in prison.

Wasson, who was also charged as a habitual four-time-felon with multiple prior felonies on his record prior to the plea, faces up to life in prison.
