Still very different from evaluation samples, where an independent party can make some judgment about the technology. Personally, I don't trust a demonstration where no one can really verify what's behind the curtain, and what is behind the curtain is optimized to the specific task at hand.

In addition to the lack of evaluation samples, there is no ecosystem to support this technology. The software stack just doesn't exist. Its very easy to build a piece of software optimized for one particular demonstration. Its quite another feat to build a generalized suite of software to support the technology.

And guess what? What was the SSD they compared to? The fastest horse around, or a crippled horse? PCGamer had this to note about the demonstration: "Regardless, this is an unfair comparison since we've already seen substantially faster NAND drives, including Intel's own SSD 750 series. "

Is an interesting technology, if it ever comes to fruition, but this is not the promised land as a next generation post-NAND technology.
