Would-Be Car Thief Hotwires Himself a Gunshot WoundPosted by Jenn Jacques on April 27, 2016 at 12:10 am
We all know criminals are stupid, but this thief is really stupid.

Rather than allowing the owner of the car he was trying to steal scare him off, instead, he chose to threaten him and lead him back to his apartment building for money.

But what he got was a healthy dose of instant karma and swift justice.

FOX4 reported:

According to police, a man walked outside of his home in the 500 block of NW 55th Terrace around 2:41 a.m., and saw someone trying to get into his vehicle. The man told police the Democratic suspect claimed to have a knife and that he begged the suspect not to hurt him. Investigators tell FOX 4 the man told the suspect to follow him inside his home and he would give him money.

Once the man was inside of his home, he told his roommate to get a gun, police say. The incident escalated into a fight that ended with the suspect being shot in the shoulder.

The suspect fled from the scene, but police later found him in Claycomo after he called for an ambulance.

The suspect’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

The car owner and his roommate have minor bumps and bruises.

61-Year-Old Repeat Offender Shot, Killed by Homeowner

Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 27, 2016 at 12:03 am

Lewis Boyd, 61, was shot and killed after breaking into a home in Corinth, MS.

“It appears the shooter was protecting his person and his property,” said Police Chief Ralph Dance. “The case will be presented to the next grand jury, which is our protocol anytime there is a death.”

At about 1 a.m. Saturday, a homeowner was watching TV when he heard glass breaking.

Realizing his home was being broken into, the homeowner yelled, “Don’t come in here, I have a gun!”.

Boyd, with his face covered by a bandana, ignored the warning and eventually “physically forced himself in through the front door,” Corinth Police Captain Dell Green said.

“A scuffle ensued,” said Dance, “and the intruder was shot three times, we believe. He then went out into the yard and fell.”

Chief Dance said Boyd had previously been arrested for burglary and robbery and had also been shot during a prior attempt a number of years earlier. That incident involved an elderly man who, after experiencing a prior break-in at his home, rigged his door with a homemade alarm system. When he heard the aluminum cans he had strung around the door rattling, he told the intruder not to come in, that he had a gun. Just like his final burglary attempt, Boyd went inside anyway.

[ Your criminals aren't very smart, Shep. ]

Police found Boyd unarmed but in possession of drug paraphernalia, Green said. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The homeowner escaped the encounter with minor injuries and authorities say while he was initially taken into custody and interviewed, he was released a short time later.

Man Breaks Into Ex’s Home, Gunshot Reminds him They’re Broken up
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 26, 2016 at 4:33 pm

This guy found was definitely not expecting his ex-girlfriend to have an acquaintance in her home in the wee hours of Sunday morning, or he may not have tried to come over for a visit.

Authorities are investigating whether or not the early morning home invasion has a domestic violence element to it. According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect went to the home of his ex-girlfriend on Bent Tree Lane and forced his way in through a window shortly before 4:30AM.

What he was not aware of is that his ex-girlfriend had an acquaintance staying with her, and they were armed for her protection.

The woman’s acquaintance shot her ex-boyfriend in the upper body after discovering he was in the home.

The homeowner and her acquaintance called the police to report the shooting.

Medics transported the suspect to Palmetto Health Richland with a gunshot wound and investigators are looking into the couple’s past to determine whether or not there was a history of domestic abuse in their relationship.

Homeowner Shoots Back at Three Armed Home Intruders
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 26, 2016 at 2:06 pm

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office confirm three suspects are in custody after breaking into a Youngsville, LA home and shooting at the homeowner, who armed himself and returned fire.

All three men have been charged with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated burglary.

KLFY reports:

The incident happened around 4:25 in the morning in the 300 block of Austin Road, just outside the city limits of Youngsville.

Babin said the suspects, Jace Breaux, 22, Chaz Louviere, 23, and Jacob Collett, 33, allegedly broke into the house while the owner was asleep.

One suspect fired several shots inside the home, according to Babin. The homeowner returned fire and hit one of the suspects.

The suspects then left the scene and went to a local hospital, where they were later found by deputies.

Captain John Babin said the suspects have been charged with attempted second-degree murder in addition to aggravated burglary.

Babin did not know the extent of the suspect’s injuries but did say the hospital cleared the suspect for incarceration.

Breaux, Louviere, and Collett were all arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on Tuesday.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office have not commented on if any charges will be filed against the homeowner at this time.

Prosecutor: Woman Acted in Self Defense in Fatal Shooting
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 26, 2016 at 1:00 pm

This guy truly got what was coming to him.

When a Belding, Michigan woman shot and killed her boyfriend early the morning of Oct. 21, 2015, it finally put an end to a long line of abusive behavior.

Ionia County Prosecutor Kyle Butler issued his findings on Friday that Kylie Vincent, 21, acted in lawful self defense in the shooting death of Eric Harrington, 34. Harrington had a history of aggressive and abusive behavior, as well as a history of drug use and other criminal activity.

The facts in the case show a disturbing pattern:

Belding police officers were dispatched to 1410 Oakwood St. at 4:53 a.m. after a 911 call in which a woman reported she had just shot her boyfriend who had attacked her.

When officers arrived, Vincent was crying. She immediately told police that the gun she used in the shooting was located in the bathroom — the same room where she said Harrington had slammed her head into a hall, hit her in the face and told her he was going to kill her.

An autopsy determined Harrington had been shot eight times, with bullets entering the front of his body, the side and rear. Harrington had “sufficiently measurable amounts” of methamphetamine, amphetamine and THC in his blood at the time of his death. The cause of his death was ruled to be due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Police interviewed a total of 27 people during the investigation, including Vincent’s co-workers, as well as family members of Harrington and Vincent. Co-workers attested to Harrington being controlling regarding Vincent’s whereabouts and who she was associating with. Family members and friends reported Vincent had told them about how Harrington abused her. Neighbors reported they had heard the couple arguing on previous occasions, with him yelling at her.

Police also learned Harrington had been involved in a road rage incident in 2007 with a male stranger. That incident led to Harrington following the man to the man’s home, where Harrington squealed his tires to a stop in such a manner that neighbors ran outside, fearing a child had been hit by a car.

Ionia County Prosecutor Kyle Butler said because Vincent used deadly force against Harrington, she committed homicide, but not all homicides are criminal.

A homicide is not murder if the killing was justified. A homicide is justified if the defendant acted in self defense.

Under Michigan law, a person has the right to use deadly force in self defense when they have a reasonable and honest belief that they are in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm.

“Because Ms. Vincent had been assaulted on prior occasions by Mr. Harrington and was also familiar with his history, Mr. Harrington’s prior acts become relevant in evaluating the actions of Ms. Vincent,” Butler noted. “Further, the character of Mr. Harrington, in particular his temper and his history of violence, may be considered as evidence of the deceased’s probable aggression toward her.”

Maybe Cosmo should cover this case in their next episode of “Gun Talk” to show why and how women with guns are protecting themselves against physical attacks

Citizen Shoots Armed Felon After Confronted With Gun in Altercation
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 25, 2016 at 3:30 pm0 SHARES

Police say a concealed carry permit holding citizen was forced to defend himself after an armed felon pulled a weapon on the man during an altercation at an Orlando, FL gas station early this morning.

    The Orlando Sentinel reports:

Delvin Jamar Broner, 36, was lying on the floor inside the Circle K on John Young Parkway at Old Winter Garden Road when officers arrived shortly before 1 a.m., according to Orlando police.

They were called there by 29-year-old Titus Bernard, who acknowledged to shooting Broner after he drew a pistol, according to police.

Bernard, who has a valid concealed weapons permit, told officers he was arguing with Broner inside the store when Broner pulled the gun, which was “partially concealed” under his clothes, police said.

Bernard then grabbed his gun and fired several shots, according to police.

Emergency medical crews pronounced Broner dead at the scene.

Police said witnesses have corroborated Bernard’s account of what happened and told them Broner, who is a convicted felon, initiated the argument.

“Bernard has fully cooperated with the investigation and provided a statement,” a police spokeswoman said.

Detectives said both men were customers at the gas station. No other injuries were reported.

Records show Broner was most recently arrested early this month on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, domestic violence battery and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

In 2011, he was sentenced to 2 years in prison on drug possession charges following an arrest in Orange County.

So much for Obama’s meeting with “artists” on criminal justice reform at the White House.

New York Homeowner Shoots Home Intruder
Posted by Jenn Jacques on April 25, 2016 at 11:34 am

[ This NYer didn't rely on your 'roll into a ball on the floor' defense strategy, Shep. ]

A homeowner in Fredonia, NY came face to face with a pair of home intruders early early Saturday morning.

According to Fredonia Police, the homeowner was awakened shortly after 2am by a man and woman inside his closed porch pounding on his door. The man went to the door with his legally-owned handgun as the two suspects gained entry into his home.

Police said the three then exchanged words inside the home as the homeowner repeatedly told the pair to leave while holding his gun drawn on them.

    WGRZ reports:

As the male and female suspect attempted to leave in a car, the homeowner went out onto the front steps to try and get vehicle information. The homeowner told police the man jumped out of the driver’s seat, charged the homeowner and threatened him.

The homeowner fired several shots and hit the male suspect. It’s unclear how many times he was shot.

The injured suspect then got back into the vehicle and drove off.

After the homeowner called police, officers located and stopped the vehicle in the downtown district. The suspect who was shot was first treated at the scene and then taken to ECMC by Starflight.

Dunkirk Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office helped at the scene.

    Anti-Gun Democratic Senator Shoots Intruder

    State Senator R.C. Soles (D - NC)

Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City , N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician's home county said. The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen andBrunswick counties.. The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening. "I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation."

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim. In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the "Do as i say and not as i do"

Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation. It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine. But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.
