I think we are on the cusp of a big move to the left. We are 65th in the world and income inequality, 50% of the people live near the poverty level, and all the gains the last 40 years have gone to the top 10% and most of the top 1% and even more to the 1/10 of 1%. The Democratic Party is being taken over by the millennial's and the deep liberals and they will not let that stand. We saw evidence of that in the strong caucus support for Bernie's ideas. Although it's looking like there is going to be be quite a fight between the establishment Democrats who believe in meritocracy and the Democrats who think it's nuts.

Ironically, during the 60s the counter culture used to chide the right wing for their Horatio Alger nonsense. I thought we had gotten that behind us. Now we have the Democrats selling the Horatio Alger story. It was interesting for Thomas Frank to point out that those in charge of the Democratic Party today, used to be the Republicans of the 50s. The Horatio Alger bunch.

The millennial's and the deep liberals see this inequality and its causes clearly now. If Obama had run against Hillary in 2016 exactly as he did in 2008 he would've slaughtered her even worse than he did in 2008. The establishment super delegates Hillary front loaded gave her a huge advantage right from the beginning ,and the monolithic vote by the African-Americans (for good reason) is what saved Hillary. In fact if a Justin Trudeau had run against Hillary I think he would have beat her. Bernie was just a bit too unorthodox.

The millennial's and the deep liberals can see what Hillary represents and what Bernie represents and they're not going to let this go. I think the future lies in their hands. And while the African-Americans voted for Hillary in a large block, they will back the millennial's and the deep liberals when they take on the plutocrats with generic liberal Democrats going forward, in my opinion. The Democratic Party is about to move substantially to the left.

Thank God. It is about time.
