This is the post from Stew US

"Prospects seem excellent to me and MMC news a plus. I was at CompUSA today and the only flash they had was a 30 meg card and it was not Sandisk. Sales rep told me that they cannot keep enough 8 and 16 meg in stock. These are from PNY manufactured by Volatile(sp). Nov announcement from Sand said cards were o/h at retail outlets at that time. Did Sand miss the entire Christmas season? Recent
announcement from MSFT concerning their palmtop is positive for compactflash. I watched adds at Staples for about two weeks giving away a 15 meg CF card with ever Kodak digicam sold and Sand supplies Kodak. Maybe Sand has production problems. I know Olympus is doing well but even though it's a competing standard Sand get royalties from every card sold via Samsung and Toshiba. I know they also get royalties from Intel for Miniature card.

It's what I don't know thats eating at me. "

Here is an interesting link I found on the Qualcomm thread. It's an article about miniature displays to read information embedded in smart cards.
