Well here is one take on the line of thinking that led to AMD's swoon today:

It seems a little odd if FinFETs and a new arch only gets 20% performance improvement, although @ 50% power. He seems to think Polaris will do about the same. If so, GPUs seems to have about hit the performance wall, same as CPUs.
