Hi Cary,

The reason I stated that backlog exceeded last year's sales is based on the following:

Backlog at 8/31/97: 19.5 mill
NSN order rec'd .7 mill (after year end)
Fox order rec'd 2.7 mill (after year end)

Total 22.9 mill vs. 21.8 sales in prior year

This does not include the recent Turner order. The other orders above are reflected in recent press releases. Maybe my use of words wasn't optimal, my point is simply that if they ship everything that has been ordered, they would exceed revenues from the prior year without getting any new orders.

As far as revenues are concerned, the period you cited was for the twelve month period ending 8/31/97. Wegener has since announced earnings for the first quarter of their new fiscal year ending 11/30/97, where revenues are up over the previous year (not by a large margin, but they are up) and the company earned a profit resulting in .02 eps for the quarter.

So, while I certainly can understand why you may be unconvinced that the company has turned the corner, I do believe my earlier statements were fairly stated.

Best wishes always,

David
