Brian, you are exactly correct! Ditto Ditto..

The government will increase the cost to the consumer for future technology product cycles. Interference with what can be integrated with the operating system is nothing short of "central planning". I'm not trying to offend any government people who are reading this thread and trying to be successful, but your leadership in justice is misguided. I'm also a Microsoft shareholder. I think it is the best managed company that I've ever followed. This entire situation is extremely sad. With all of the obvious problems in Washington, the fact that they are using my tax dollars for an assult on what makes this country great is so poor that it's beyond explanation!

Jay

NSCP did not leverage a monopoly position on one area to gain their dominant position in browsers. You made a poor analogy.

Brian; MSFT didn't just give IE away, it forced it on box makers
Via a "hopsons choice" which in reality is no choice.
MSFT has become a big bully in the PC world; it's under-handed,
Tactics are also reflected in IE.
IE don't ask, it sets itself up as the default.if your upgrading
From say 3.01 to 95.IE will also alter file assosiations,
Without asking. AT every angle it pushes itself upon the user.
New users are blind to it, and often even experienced users
Get frustrated trying to configure their system to use another
Browser. Even my viewers were all changed, to were if I hit
a gif or other graphic file EI would pop up and at that
Point try to take me by the hand and coax me into signing
up with MSN! In trying to get rid of this mess IE and WIN95
Resorted to intimidation by warning me my system might not
Work. To Hell with those tactics. I hope the Justice dept. Burns
Their rear.
