I read that article before. The guy has some stuff right and other stuff wrong.

If you want to get into this subject I will. But it is pretty boring. The essence of it is that the tradition characteristics of fascism (like nationalism) are all screwed up. Nationalism exists in fascism, is often claimed to be of utmost importance (and hence, the allegation that it is right-wing in nature) -- yet, nationalism is a mere tool of the fascists when one looks more deeply at it. A tool to unify the people, not some fundamental principle of fascism.

If you want to know what makes Fascism what it is, it is the central planning of key economic elements, as well as public ownership of selected key resources. You take away economic choice -- again a tool, but it is a transformative one. And it is very much the Obama-Sanders model that took hold in fascist states.

For wing nuts, 'fascism' is like 'communism' or 'socialism'. Just another term that means "I don't like that".

Just look how i-node has convinced himself that 'fascism' is a leftist phenomenon or that the Nazis were leftist. Apparently because they had 'Socialists' in their name...

I doubt it’s conscious. I don’t think he’s a bookish man. I’m sure he’s never read a book about Hitler or Mussolini...

I agree. He is just winging it and goes with what resonates with his audience. I noticed he has sort of back-tracked on his claim that Americans make too much money. Sort of. But he can't quite totally repudiate it.
