Thanks

You can do either. I do both depending on many things mostly related to my asset allocation.

If you are trying to move from a large explore portfolio where you've had a ton of success to a "retirement portfolio" that is more indexed so you can spend more time doing something else, then letting SPY dividends reinvest automatically works well to save commissions. With other stocks, at least in the newsletter, I let the dividends accumulate so I can use those funds to buy whatever is down and hits a buy point in the corrections.

Can I toot my horn?

Today's issue of Timer Digest shows "Kirk Lindstrom's Investment Letter" is tied for first for short-term (3 month) stock market timing and tied for fourth for long-term (2-years) stock market timing.

I took some profits at $45 today in Agilent that lowered my "break-even" to $9 and change. Now at a high not seen since it was part of the fiber optic bubble... that was sold off long ago (now Avago), spun off Keysight and is now the biotech company.
