Then the banks will start thinking twice about lending money to kids who get Art History degrees and jack up the interest rates on those loans, while lowering the interest rates on loans for degrees in science, engineering, and math...you know, the degrees that get you jobs.

If allowed they would and should do that - it's an obvious credit worthiness test. No other place in society can you borrow so much money with such obviously worthless collateral.

MM, have you given any thought at all to what 8 billion people will do when robots and AI take all their jobs? When the .01% that own the robots and the AI need returns on their investments, but less and less people are able to get a job? What form of government will we need then?
