Mohan Marette. Re: Consumer confidence. I agree. This is very good news for computers and the economy. I think much of the gloom and doom crowd has overdone it.

Intel did a study which showed a strong link between consumer confidence and computer purchases. My recollection was there may have been a lag of a month or a quarter, but the information is over two years old so I'm vague on it.

The other number that stuck in my head was a survey done by Manpower Inc., which showed that small businesses were more bullish about hiring than in any time in the past 20-25 years.
