Dividends accrue on the preferred shares whether or not the dividends are distributed; this was an incentive provided in the preferred share offer. It is at the company's discretion as to when they will be distributed (i.e., if finances permit). Should the company be dissolved, the accrued dividends would be paid to the preffered share holders before the common share holders would receive anything.

I don't recall the company indicating any intention of declaring dividends on common stock. This may be a misconception that has arisen due to the preferred shares having dividends accruing. Has anyone heard otherwise (definitively)?
