That's why you fell for the Global Warming hoax. CO2 absorbs a couple of wavelengths so you mistakenly went along with the Al Gore idea. Hey, wait, isn't he a marketing type? Why would you buy his snake oil. Yes, you are right. Bad ideas are bad. It doesn't matter where they come from.

Actually I came to the conclusion of AGW before Gore did. The Science was overwhelming then and is even stronger now.

Congratulations, you are up to where I was 30 years ago when it seemed ridiculous that petrol and diesel vehicles could continue to beat electric. But they did and continue to do so. But there are now some actual all-electric cars that are finding a niche of success.

Oh, I came to that conclusion in the early 1970's while I was majoring in physics in college. Right about the time of the first arab oil embargo in 1973. Waiting in long lines for gas spoke volumes, what a pain!

My dad trumped me about that when he told me so in the late 1950's that electric cars and all transportation would eventually run on electrons from photon conversion.

Making the batteries small, light, reliable, safe, cheap enough has been the hard part. Recharging them remains a hard part - an hour wait to charge is hopeless. Waiting at a gasoline pump is bad enough, but at least it takes only 3 minutes for somebody who is efficient to get it done. The least wait for a Supercharger would be almost an hour if there is only 1 car in front.

Tell you what, you just keep waiting. Charging times are decreasing and I've never had to wait in line. The vast bulk of my charging takes place at home. I always have a full tank of electrons when I leave the house!

Plugging in is a hassle. Power cords are a pain. Halo will make electric cars so much nice to drive. Just park and walk away. No cables in the rain. A couple of days ago, I finally bought an induction cooker. And a suitable pot. it's great. Only US$40.

Now I have electric, lpg, methane, and induction. Induction wins. It's much more efficient. 2 kilowatts is pretty good for what I want.

The ideal car would be all electric, induction recharge and no need to swap the battery. If would be a nice step to keep out of the process. As with Cyberphones, it might be enough to charge once a day while sleeping. Recharge brain, car and Cyberphone at the same time.

Only takes a couple seconds to plug in and it's virtually 100% efficient. Induction charging is only 90% efficient at best. But I like the V2G aspect that will rule going forward. Cordless charging is ok for some aspects but it's inefficient and slow.

Let me know when your battery swap idea takes off.

It might have worked twenty years ago when batteries had very poor capacity.

Not so today with Li ion cells continuing to improve at a rapid rate. Some cells can be fully recharged in less than 5 minutes now.
