The A-bomb is the experimental evidence.
Yes, but not "the" - it's "an".

Radioactive decay is another.

Even the masses in the periodic table is another (see: "mass defect")

Antimatter annihilation is yet another.

Mass energy conversion due to acceleration - that could also be said to be evidence.

That there is other intelligent life (and lots of it) in the universe is something I do not doubt…
That is not science.

That life is highly probable off Earth I would say is true once one understands the nature of life, but to assert with certainty that there is life off planet is a statement of belief. It does not matter if a prominent scientist states that either - without facts, it is a belief.
