I, well, let's see, how to say this: "don't think much of this
article" - is that civil enough? ;-)

The phrase "has the shop been left to run itself?" at least indicates the author underestimates the rest of Oracle management.

The phrase "this device employs the worst method possible for delivering the Internet: The telephone line." betrays the
prejudices of the author. As if home PCs in any significant number
use some other Internet connection.

The claim "a plan to become the biggest NC maker in the world" shows
the author knows little about what Oracle has said about its NC plans.

The referenced article is biased & as conclusionary as it claims ORCL's management to be in an effort to explain the disappointment in earnings.

It is interesting to note how many pundits explain ORCL's problems as mis-focus on the NC, as if it is of significance to the bottom line. Such explanation evidences ignorance of ORCL's businesses & where the real problem may lie.

If ORCL "wasn't focusing" on the NC, would 4Q numbers have been better? I don't believe so.

The article is as much a piece of crap as the Rimer article of last week. These journalists don't know what they're talking about, though they'd like to believe it. This is net journalism. Its free; you get what you pay for.
