pass pass,
The Koreans will face considerable austerity, but they nonetheless will be forced to prioritize capital spending critical to their ongoing tech businesses. DUV is likely to be one of these priority areas simply on the "can't afford to fall too far behind" principle and the fact that it is likely to improve the economics of their semi business. The Koreans are going to be looking very closely at what they can export profitably. Korean domestic markets will be dismal for awhile, so to that extent nobody expects them to buy lots of PC's. But that's not the part of the Korean economy that is critical to CYMI--it is the extent and the allocation of their capital spending. That part will likely be stronger for DUV than many other semi equip areas, but we may have to wait for the next CYMI conference call to get a clear picture.

"Put yourself in the S. Koreans' shoes: pay off credit card debts first or buy a new PC first?"

Well, if they are like most Europeans/Americans and the rest of the world, the PC comes first!

There's no doubt that PC sales will slow in Korea.

They make parts for the rest of the world. They want more profits, they need smaller chips.
