Hi, Juli!!! You may have paid your SI dues, but unfortunately you may NOT have paid your dues with these seemingly horrible companies, on which so many of us have lost so much money already.

It really remains to be seen whether, under current management, any of them are real companies really producing products at all, and profits for their shareholders, or whether this is the world's longest shell game, some sort of stock swindle. Sorry to seem so cynical, but I have just about reached the end of my patience, tolerance and understanding!!!!

[My concern here is that it seems that Sigma produces memory chips. With memory prices falling off a cliff and semiconductor stocks all facing the firing squad, how can Sigma expect to be profitable any time soon, or to raise any significant amount of money to finance operations.]

Juli - I guess I missed your original question and had to search back to find the above post.

I think the best person to pose the question to is Gil Olachea. Perhaps he will stumble across this post (as he sometimes visits the SI board) and in turn post his comments using my password, but he has been fairly busy as of late. Your questions are valid, so I'd call him directly and ask him for feedback on your questions/concerns. If you receive feedback please post it for the rest of the board to digest.

During my face to face meeting with Gil on Monday Gil pointed to a recent industry article that indicated memory prices are actually expected to increase this year. As far as Sigma turning a profit, Gil feels Sigma can profitably sell everything they can produce through existing distribution channels, and it appears Sigma has solid sources for chips. I don't gather that Gil has any intention on buying in large quantities and getting burned with expensive inventories like the former owners of BMI.

For the best answer to your question I think it would be best to either email or call Gil for his feedback.
