Al, Velocity and capacity notwithstanding...can you tell me what purpose one of these has other than to kill people? a) Hunt down those really aggressive deer. b) A creative way to make fruit salad. Just stack a bunch of fruit 20 yards away and have at it. c) When you've locked yourself out of your home and can't wait for the locksmith. d) Show off to your friends. A great way to compensate for deficiencies in biological manhood. Believe me, I too share your dislike of assault rifles and wish there really was some way we could ban them. Their utility in public settings is really questionable to me, and the only self-defense scenario I could think of is home defense. And even then, if the perp is indoors, a rifle is still less wieldy than a pistol. Of course, I'm going to hear it from the NRA folks, but whatever. Tenchusatsu

.can you tell me what purpose one of these has other than to kill people? Several types of hunting or competition, but most importantly to kill people based on our right to self defense and the purpose of the 2nd amendment - to allow the people to defend themselves from a future tyrannical government or invasion. There are more AR-15's or semi-autos in the USA than Islamic radicals, seems it would be easier to find and deport the radicals than ban a gun already the most popular seller in the USA.
