"While most Americans don't understand much about the world, they do have an unfailing ability to imagine that everything which happens in the world is all about them."

That's probably the number one stereotype Germans have about Americans, and looking at what you just posted explains why they believe that.

You've actually taken a skit from a German comedy show which is about meddling right wing Bavarian-Catholic politician who used a brief meeting with Putin to give him advice about Syria, and have concluded the skit is actually "about American wars in Iraq, Libya, and Syria". Really think about that for a minute!

You freely admit you don't understand anything about German current events and politics, yet you take a skit from a German political comedy show about a stupid local politician, Horst Seehofer, meddling in things he understands nothing about, and you insist it's actually a skit about America! It's absolutely astounding!

It's actually a skit about a German who is a lot like yourself. Like Horst Seehofer, you feel no sense of shame about making such an ignorant comment and other ignorant Americans online support your mistaken conclusions and are proud of themselves for doing so. We've managed to develop a culture of ignorance where those who know very little at all, shamelessly hold themselves up as experts on all manner of subjects.

I guess that's the fun part you find fun about not understanding things. You can imagine all sorts of things are actually about something other than what they are.

It's one of the things I find most annoying about American culture, Absolute ignorance has been elevated in America to something to be proud of and to aspire to.

In Germany an ignorant doofus like Pogeu Mahon in Germany is given enough feedback through their life that they understand exactly how ignorant they are. As a result, German Pogeu Mahons rarely share their special ignorance with the world because they know they're embarrassing themselves when they speak.
