<They said that the 266 Mhz K6 systems will not ship for probably another two months>

If they said 2 months, that really means nobody knows. 2 months is too long a time for anyone to delay unless there are real problems. This is certainly only circumstantial evidence, but it is at least as good as what the AMD zelots have been going by in their claims. Looks like Yousef's predictions, and the brokerage houses were right when they said AMD was slipping their .25u intro by ~3months. Maybe that should be at least 3 months. My AMD sources tell me that the .25u process is in serious trouble. Look for more delays. STAY TUNED.

Pravin ,the Cybermax ad in computer shopper january issue does say
next month the 266mhz K6 notebook will ship , that would put the date into February according to their ad . There is another reason why Cybermax could be short of 266mhz , one of the larger OEMs could be taking much of the supply ,
Brian
PS from the drop in K6-233 prices while the 200 mhz stays relatively stable it would seem that AMD has good yield on 233mhz parts . we do not know how well the .25 is going but having been hearing rumours that it is producing more per wafer than the .35 version .

Pravin,

Thank you for providing us with a very unbias observation.

Two months of delay, that's almost the entire time it takes to manufacture a batch of CPUs. When some one tells you a two-month delay, it really means indefinite delay. Two months is the most optimistic answer assuming everything is going to be executed 100% perfectly. Manufacturing at such ungodly quantity does not have luck as a parameter in the equation.

John.

Pravin if your report turns out to be true we might get AMD at 13.00
