Craig,

Come on now. I remember you saying you were into "death matches" on the LAN a long time ago. Maybe you like Quake II so much, you're getting a little biased? <GGG>

No big deal. National/Cyrix need to get the clock speeds up in Socket 7 or there is no point. So I agree with you there.

Bob

Craig,

You did not make good comparison on PII266 with 6x86-PR200+. My suggestion is to get an M2-166 and run it on 83Mhz bus speed to compare it with your PII-266Mhz side by side.

All these staff, including case, CPU, RAM, video card and mobo, are cheap enough to set up on for a fair side by side comparison. Would you mind to give it try and tell me how fast is PII-266 over M2-166Mhz, not 6x86-150Mhz.

As to Norton SI, it is very interesting to observe that lots of Intel supporters claimed that they could feel that Intel 486DX33 is faster than AMD 486DX33 because i486 is 0.1 SI rate higher than A486. After 6x86 reached the market, no one would give Norton SI any credit until now. :)

BTW, don't forget to equip the test M2 with equal RAM when comparing it side by side with PII.
