You're right on...........criminals don't have easy access to guns in Europe so crimes are committed with less lethal weapons........ I sense a rising fascination with body armor in this country....I wonder when Brumey will start wearing a vest at home.....gg

You are kidding right? It is just hard to believe that you left wing gun nuts are serious when you say things like this. What is the name of the fantasy world you live in? You have got to be kidding. When you spout nonsense like this in a debate about an issue you lose all credibility. "no new semi-automatics could be sold, that vastly reduced the existing ones being sold into the black market because they couldn't be replaced at any price." Excellent semi-automatic firearms are manufactured all around the world. By passing your little laws all you would do is create a whole new criminal enterprise. Gun running would make new fortunes for organized crime and petty criminals would be breaking into your home to steal the money to buy a new semi. Prohibition of Booze, Drugs and Firearms does not work in America. Plus you would make criminals out of otherwise law abiding citizens for owning a semi. Plus you would next have to make pump shotguns illegal. They make an excellent home defense weapon. They are used by the military and police for close quarter combat. So are they assault shotguns? My point is there is no end to it. Your position on this issue is absurd and will not work in the US. It will only work in your fantasy world. Here is another thought. Two or three young men with ball bats can kick down your front door and beat you and your wife and kids to death. Because you are unarmed there is nothing you could do to protect yourself or your family. You and your family would make the evening news. The large amount of blood would be mentioned. The police would investigate and the coroner would rule homicide death by blunt force trauma. Neighbors would say what a shame it was and what a quiet neighborhood it was. You and your wife and children would be buried and tears would be shed all around. Everyone would tell your distant family members, "We are sorry for your lose." Five days after it happened no one but distant family would even remember it happened. A gun nut is a man who does not have one. A good recommendation is a pump 12 gauge shotgun loaded with double 00 buckshot, and a .45 semi auto loaded with Federal 230 grain Hydro Shocks. At least this way you would have a fighting chance. With proper training and knowledge of your home you would have an edge even if outnumbered by armed thugs. Even if you are killed in a gunfight the odds are very good your family would survive. I know that for you fantasy land dreamers that is a lot of reality for you to handle. Bottom line is I would much rather have a gun I never need than need one once and not have one.
