Do you live in CA part of the time? Southern CA? I found CA to be a bit strange, very light, but the people were extremely nice. They all told me I was a New Yorker right away as soon as they heard me talk. My first experience of CA was Venice, CA. The first night I was there in the early 70s, the Blacks on the Beach were calling me "nigger" and high fiving me. They had good stuff. The women were very loose, nice and light headed. I got lots of smiles, among other things. -g-

SF was more trendy. Not all that impressed. I liked Eugene and Corvalis a lot. Lots of hippies there. I fit in there real well. People went very much out of their way for me. I was on the road, looking for high octane experiences. I sure got it in Oregon. People were very far out there, attuned and in touch. Went to a lot of parties there and could easily lived the rest of my life there and been happy.

I take it you are a Jill Stein fan. Clearly, she is the best candidate in the race with the best positions. However, she can't win. But she is right that Hillary is not qualified to be President due to her policy positions. It is hard to be pragmatic when you are a principled person. But I have made the move already. I anguished for months between Trump and Hillary and in the end, I couldn't vote for a racist and don't support any of his positions. The fact that I even considered voting for a racist tells you what I thought of Hillary.

I'm not a Politico so in the end I would not judge anyone harshly for voting for Jill Stein, especially given the other two alternatives.
